General Description
First Reformed Church is looking for a full time pastor that is a compassionate, humble servant, with strong communication skills to lead our congregation in our vision of outreach, ministry, and growth.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Preach and teach God’s Word. Provide the framework to inspire and train ministry teams and congregational leaders. (2 Timothy 4:2, Ephesians 4:12)
- Encourage the congregation for mission work (Matthew 28:19)
- Provide spiritual guidance along with the elders to families and individuals (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
- Initiate and/or make pastoral calls/visits to members of the congregation or their family members (John 10:14)
- Lead services for funerals and weddings.
- Participate in community wide ministry.
Performance Expectations:
- Exhibits a passion for God and a Christ-like spirit
- Serves as a visionary who leads the congregation in community outreach
- Provides monthly leadership to the Consistory
- Equips elders and deacons
- Seeks to expand personal spiritual growth
- Consistently incorporates Biblical principles in teaching
- Assists in planning and implementing adult discipleship ministries
- Provides oversight and instruction for youth ministry and high school catechism
- Participates in Alliance Network hub (Dakota Network) and Aplington ministerial association.
- Commits to leading a Christ centered body of believers, and honoring God by developing disciples for Jesus Christ
