Reformed Theological Seminary

Is RTS NYC Right for You?

RTS was invited to come to New York City in 2015 by Dr. Tim Keller and Redeemer City to City.  Our goal is to provide New Yorkers with academically rigorous and spiritually rich theological education.  Our graduates are given a foundation for a lifetime of effective urban ministry.  In doing so we desire to be part of a larger movement of God raising up leaders to reach New York City for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We offer the 66 credit-hour Master of Arts (Biblical Studies) degree comprised of courses in Greek, Hebrew, Bible, Theology, History and Living the Christian Life in Secular Culture. Applicants are admitted as a cohort to foster community, esprit de corps and shared learning throughout the program. Most applicants pursue Fall admission, however, we have a limited number of seats for Winter and Spring admission.

New York City is our campus, cohorts are our community. Incoming cohorts begin their student experience in August with the Center Chuch Intensive taught by Dr. Tim Keller.  This course provides a unique urban framework for the program. Throughout the program, City to City leaders provide additional teaching and support to MABS students through stated monthly gatherings and informal mentoring.  Upon completion of the MABS program, students are encouraged to enter the Redeemer City Ministry Program (CMP) for courses in preaching, shepherding, leadership, missions, and evangelism. Some of our graduates pursuing ordination have requested from their denomination that the MABS degree and the CMP certificate be received in lieu of a Master of Divinity degree.

Generous scholarships are available to applicants called to minister in New York City through the Redeemer City Ministry Scholarship Program.  In partnership with Redeemer City to City, RTS aims to see God raise a new generation of leaders equipped to serve in New York City and global cities around the World.
