Payroll and Benefits Administrator

Job Description:

In a full-time capacity, this position reports to Chief Financial Officer. As Payroll and Benefits Administrator, the position provides assistance to all campuses and institutional staff with regards to any payroll related questions and prepares and processes/transmits payroll through the payroll system. This position will also be one of the institutional experts of the payroll system.

Payroll Specialist

  • Process/transmit payroll changes and payroll through payroll system for Work Study, Faculty and Staff
  • Input Honoraria into payroll system as needed
  • Work with all employees for payroll-related items and issues
  • Assist HR in the On-boarding and Off-boarding of Seminary employees
  • Assist with yearly participation reports and open enrollment for major insurance plans
  • Assist all employees with benefit enrollment, questions and audits as needed
  • Prepare Housing Allowance request for approval by the Executive Committee
  • Approve end of year tax forms through payroll provider
  • Research data and prepare reports for ATS, SACS, IRS and other reports when needed
  • Assist with computation of retirement plan year end contribution and fiscal year estimates
  • Assist with yearly audit of RTS and RTS Foundation, RTS retirement plan
  • Assist all employees with payroll system questions, as needed
  • Payroll system maintenance
  • Assist with other projects under the direction of the Director of Finance, CFO or other institutional departments, as needed

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Accounting or Business focus, preferred.
  • Strong work tenure: two years in payroll, business setting or corporate experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and CMS
  • Self-starter who is comfortable in managing projects to completion.
