Associate Pastor
Job Description:
Ambassador Presbyterian Church (ARP), located in the rapidly growing area of Apex NC, is seeking an Associate Pastor to work alongside our Senior Pastor and Session in shepherding and equipping our congregation to be Christ’s ambassadors: living for our King, loving like our King, and leading to our King. The Associate Pastor will primarily focus his ministry in leading our congregation in the areas of worship and evangelism while exercising his gifts in other areas of pastoral ministry. This is a full-time ordained position.
Position Qualifications:
As Associate Pastor, you will:
- Spend concentrated, regular time in prayer, reading, and study of the Word.
- Serve with the Sr. Pastor and the Session in the overall shepherding ministry of the church.
- Serve with the overall staff team and ministry leaders to carry out the vision of the church.
- Share periodically in the preaching (8-10 times/yr) and regularly in the teaching ministry.
- Be actively engaged with members and families as one of their pastors.
Focused ministry responsibilities include:
- Lead and direct the planning, quality, and consistency in the worship ministry of our church.
- Oversee and lead the worship music ministry of the church.
- Lead and promote an environment of invitation, welcome, and connection including engaging and enfolding new members into the congregation.
- Be actively involved in and lead our congregation in evangelistic outreach in our community.
Qualifications:
- At least 2-3 years of pastoral (or like) experience is preferred.
- Have an MDiv degree from an accredited seminary, and be ordained or eligible to be ordained in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Church.
- Have experience leading worship music for a church or campus ministry. Possess sufficient skills and proficiency as an instrumentalist and vocalist, with the demonstrated ability to equip, coordinate, and lead a volunteer music team.
- Have a passion for evangelistic outreach and demonstrated experience in leading others to faith in Christ.
