Job Title:
Children’s Ministry Director
Job Description:
The Children’s Ministry Director is the lead visionary for the children’s ministry, seeking to modify and grow the ministry in accordance with the mission and vision of Eastside Presbyterian Church.
Essential Job Functions
• Build, encourage, shepherd, and oversee the Children’s Ministry Team
• Work with the Director of Community Engagement to spearhead fun events that reach children and
families in the surrounding community
• Plan activities which encourage the development of gospel-centered relationships
• Cultivate and maintain a warm, winsome, clean, organized classroom environment for children and their parents
• Ensure that children are welcomed and safely checked in and out of church programs
• Ensure compliance with EPC’s allergen-friendly food policies on Sundays and during other children’s
ministry events
• Select and provide oversight for the implementation of all children’s ministry curriculum, Scripture
memory, songs, etc., during Sunday School and Children’s Church, ensuring alignment with EPC’s
philosophy of ministry
• Plan and coordinate regular Profession of Faith classes
• Plan and coordinate training for volunteers in compliance with EPC’s Child Protection Policy
• Participate in weekly staff meetings, as well as other staff development opportunities
Position Qualifications:
• A committed believer with a healthy and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, devoting regular time to prayer and Bible study
• Possessing a lifestyle and character that is consistent with Biblical standards for one called to a position
of church leadership
• A lifetime learner who leads and serves with humble confidence
• Agreement with the vitals of the PCA as outlined in the Westminster Confession of Faith
• Inward and outward call to ministry
• Heart for loving and shepherding children and their parents
• Commit to promoting peace within the church and resolving conflicts according to Matthew 18
principles
• Completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree
