Job Description:

Pastoral Responsibilities: 

  1. Share the responsibilities of ordained ministry to:
    1. Preach, lead worship and sacraments 12+ times per year
    2. Prayer, counsel, visitation, weddings, funerals, special services etc.
    3. Participate in the EPC Presbytery of the Pacific Northwest.  
  2. Assist in various adult ministries as needed and as you grow with us. 
    1. Men’s ministry
    2. Small groups and Sunday School
    3. In concert with Senior Pastor, develop your own ministry vision and invest with Session in shared leadership

Key Focus Areas:

  1. Youth Ministry _(Grades 6-12)
    1. Pursue teens and their families with personal care, contact and discipleship. 
    2. Serve with the Youth Committee, parents, and key volunteers. 
    3. Eventually become the primary visionary and manager of our mid-week and Sunday morning programs. 
    4. Work to promote youth ministry, coordinate with parents, recruit volunteers, develop leaders, plan outreach events, special outings, etc.  

 

     2. Oversee Part-time staff and Volunteers in Children’s Ministry_(K-5)

              1. Shepherd the Children Ministry Committee, parents, and various volunteers.

              2.  Guide volunteer recruitment and coordination.

              3.  Guide children’s curriculum oversight and management. 

              4.  Support VBS program, outreach, and other special events.  

 

 

Position Qualifications:

 

  1. Must have a track-record of internal motivation to shepherd students and their families.
  2. Ideal applicants are ordained, ordainable or planning to be ordained in the EPC.  
  3. Applicants ordained from other Reformed bodies are accepted.
  4. Non-ordained applicants with appropriate education and strong experience will be considered if they are on track to be ordained. 
  5. Excellent Preaching/Teaching and People-Connection abilities are a must.
  6. Music ability is a plus to the applicant. 
  7. Spanish fluency is a double-plus to the applicant.
  8. Appreciation for Washington small town living is a must! 
  9. Be ready to learn.  We will train you.
  10. Strong, consistent devotional life and personal humility.
  11. Pass a background check.

Ephrata is in the center of Washington State.  This is a recreational, agricultural area close to shopping and tourist destinations. Minutes from hunting, fishing or hiking.  1 hour from the Cascade mountains.  Halfway between Seattle and Spokane, you can be in any of Washington's major cities, or the Pacific ocean in a day.
