Part-Time Worship Leader

Job Description:

The Worship Leader is a part-time position entrusted with planning, coordinating, and helping lead our worship services and taking an active role in the life of our church.  Our purpose in filling this position is to find someone who demonstrates the following:

  • Clear testimony of a life that has trusted in Christ and strives to live a life worthy of Him.
  • A desire to help plan, coordinate, and lead weekly worship services and special services throughout the church year.
  • A heart to lead people in worship and not just lead a performance.
  • Supports our church’s beliefs and doctrines (https://globalmethodist.org/what-we-believe/)
  • Punctual and dedicated.

Position Qualifications:

DESIRED ABILITIES:

  • Skill in vocal and musical direction.
  • The ability to play an instrument is desired, but not required.
  • Ability to provide congregational leadership during worship.
  • Experience in audio/visual operation.
  • Team player with good relational skills and a positive attitude.
  • Self-starter who strives for quality and encourages quality in others.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership, vision, and passion in the area of music/worship ministries that is in line with the overall vision and mission of the church.
  • Take the lead in creating and implementing new worship opportunities which align with the mission and vision of the church.
  • Coordinate with the Pastor to create well-planned and engaging Sunday worship services. This includes leading the Sunday worship service and overseeing the worship team (vocalists and instrumentalists).
  • Recruiting and encouraging others to use their skills or talents in worship.
  • Assist in planning, implementing and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday worship services.
