Christ’s Church (https://www.christschurchatlillian.com) is seeking a pastor to shepherd a small but vibrant nondenominational, evangelical church in rural central Nebraska established in 1907.

Job Description
The Minister shall be a spiritual leader of our Church, an example of a servant leader.
The Minister’s primary responsibility is to help lead our church, see people saved and equip all believers as followers of Christ to love and serve in a Christ-like lifestyle.

Responsibilities of the Minister

  • Preach the Gospel of salvation through faith in Christ.
  • Feed the Church – preach and teach God’s Word with accuracy, clarity, conviction and relevance
  • Lead the Church – The Minister will:
    • Conduct weekly Sunday morning worship and other services as determined by the board.
    • Provide Spiritual leadership and direction for the church body.
    • Provide Spiritual leadership for the elders and board as outlined in the By-Laws.
    • Implement and accomplish the church’s mission and vision in keeping with the Statement of Faith.
    • Have a passion and a plan to reach the lost and encourage that passion throughout the church.
    • Actively equip and mentor our congregation including leadership development and empowerment.
    • Encourage people to love and worship God and love each other and our neighbors.
    • Encourage people to seek to know their spiritual gifts and use them to serve Him.
    • Encourage people to maintain personal disciplines including bible study, prayer and fasting.
    • Encourage people in corporate gathering and accountability including small groups.
    • Provide by example and training for assimilating new people into the church.
    • Encourage stewardship and missions support through Christian action and financial support.

Care for the Church – The Minister will:

  • Show love as Christ loves the Church.
  • Provide biblical counseling to those with spiritual needs.
  • Visit the people of the church.
  • Ensure that the sick, the shut-ins and the bereaved are ministered to either personally or by others in the church.
  • Ensure that weddings including premarital counseling, funerals, baptisms, baby dedications and other such services are performed within church policy.
  • Encourage or direct ministries for the youth of the church.
  • Encourage music ministry as available.
  • Establish regular office hours but be willing to work under flexible hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Accountability of the Minister

The Minister shall be responsible to our congregation and be held accountable by the Board. He shall provide activity reports to the Board as requested.  The Board shall conduct an evaluation of the Minister’s performance annually or as determined in order to help direct as well as to encourage him in his ministry. The Minister shall be ordained and/or licensed or be willing to become so.

The Compensation

Salary range – $45,000 to $55,000 plus use of parsonage (utilities, cable or internet for parsonage not included)
