From the Director of Admissions
On behalf of our Admissions team, I’d like to say that we’re thrilled that you’re considering studying with us at RTS Charlotte and making this place your home. Selecting a seminary is no small feat. Many students and their families invest considerable time, energy, and capital into their theological education. But we believe that the Lord is using RTS Charlotte to continue building his church by raising up individuals like yourself committed to serving Christ for a lifetime of ministry. Our mission is both local and global: we strive to equip you to serve Christ wherever and however he chooses to use you for his glory.
At RTS Charlotte, you’ll study in a vibrant confessional community that’s committed to the authority of Scripture, personal growth in grace, and all done in service to the local church in a rapidly growing and increasingly diverse city. Our faculty is composed of men who love the Bible, the church, and their students. If the Lord is calling you to serve Christ with a mind for truth and a heart for him, then you belong at RTS Charlotte.
Please get to know us on this website and feel free to contact me or our team if you have any questions. We hope you will join us in Charlotte soon as a new member of the RTS family!

What's my financial investment?
With the rise of student loan debt, we know that cost is one of your top concerns. Rather than cutting corners to lower tuition, we’ve partnered with churches and believers around the world to offer you a stellar education at an affordable rate.
Why? We believe that no one should have to go deep into debt in order to study God’s word.
Are you an International Student?
We are honored that you are considering moving to the United States to study at RTS Charlotte. Here you can find more information concerning application as an international student. Our admissions team looks forward to helping you on this journey.
Would you like to audit a class?
Auditing is a great option if you want to learn and engage with course material but are not interested in pursuing a full degree and don’t have time to take on a full course load. If you would like to audit a course on the RTS Charlotte campus, you can request registration for an audit course today.
Campus Life
At RTS Charlotte, we recognize that how you learn will determine how you lead. And community is God’s prescribed environment for both the learning and the spiritual formation which you will model and establish wherever you serve the Church. Surrounded by other believers, you can process out-loud what you’ve learned. You can discuss what you hear in classroom lectures at a break, on the soccer field, or over lunch or dinner with classmates or with professors.
The context of community fosters meditation on God’s Word and protects you from the temptation to lean solely on your own understanding. The structure of the community at RTS is designed to keep the head and the heart in line. Once a week students and professors come together to worship the triune God in Chapel, share a conversation over food, and lift up their hearts in a time of prayer. Monthly events such as the Faculty Forums engage modern cultural and biblical issues and special Women’s events reach out to and serve female students and student wives. For any questions regarding student life, please contact Avery Schrader using the button below. We look forward to sharing this season of life with you!

This list includes places that give our students preferred status, which reduces some of their fees and application costs.
We have a great community on campus and our students are very involved. We have weekly events like Chapel, Coffee Fellowship, and Prayer Chapel. RTS is non-denominational but does hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith. Across RTS our students and professors hail from approximately 60 different denominations. We seek to be a place that is firm in our theological commitment to the inerrancy and infallibility of scripture as well as the reformed faith, all the while, welcoming students from different backgrounds.
RTS Charlotte is in the center of the Queen City, which has the nickname of “The City of Churches.” There is a diverse host of churches in the city from different denominations, and we have a recommended list of churches to help students. We seek to develop pastor-scholars and that begins with our faculty. Our professors are experts in their fields and are well published and experienced in their disciplines, all of them have had church or pastoral experience. With that in mind, our professors incorporate this aspect in all classes with application to situations and experiences. Further, we have an extensive practical theology component in our program that focuses on necessary aspects in pastoring.
