Dr. Ligon Duncan recommends Interpreting the Psalms for pastors and students. Written by Dr. Mark Futato, Interpreting the Psalms is a guide to exegeting and preaching the Psalms.

Hello, I’m Ligon Duncan, and this is RTS Book Notes. Today, I want to tell you about a book by Dr. Mark Futato, who teaches Old Testament and Hebrew at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. Dr. Futato is really an expert in the Psalms and has been working on the writings of the Old Testament for many, many years.

This is a volume in a series called A Handbook for Old Testament Exegesis. It’s published by Kregel, and it’s called Interpreting the Psalms: an Exegetical Handbook. And that’s exactly what the work does. It walks you through the Psalms and it helps you know how to expound the Psalms. I’ve heard Dr. Futato expound the Psalms myself, and wished that I had heard him do that before I preached through the Psalms. So I think you’ll find him a very helpful guide as you work through the Psalms. Thanks so much for listening to RTS Book Notes.
