Dr. Ligon Duncan talks about A Mind for Truth. A Heart for God by John Muether. Written in honor of RTS’s 50th anniversary, this book tells the story of how the seminary came to be in the midst of a Reformed resurgence in the 1960s.

Hello, I’m Ligon Duncan and this is RTS Book Notes. Today, I want to tell you about a book called A Mind For Truth. A Heart for God— the story of Reformed Theological Seminary. Church historian John Muether, who teaches at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando and is the Dean of Libraries for the whole RTS system, wrote a volume for the 40th anniversary of RTS and then revised it and updated it for the 50th anniversary of RTS just a few years ago to tell the story of how this institution came to be. It’s a short book, but it’s a very, very helpful introduction to an important part of the expanding history of the Reformed resurgence that really began in the 1960s— not only in the United States, but in other places around the world— and is going on today. And it puts RTS in the midst of that particular history. John Muether: A Mind for Truth. A Heart for God. Thanks for listening to RTS Book Notes.
