Duties as an Elder:

In the role of an elder, the Pastor will:

Oversee the financial stewardship and administration of the church.

Be recognized and appointed by the church body for pastoral ministry.

Resolve doctrinal questions and provide sound biblical guidance.

Collaborate with fellow elders/deacons for mutual edification and accountability.

Exercise authority with wisdom, humility, and respect for congregation input.

Devote time to the study and application of God’s word.

Duties as a Bishop:

As a bishop, the Pastor/ will:

Ensure the church remains faithful to the gospel and obedient to God’s commands.

Protect the congregation from false teachings and doctrinal deviations.

Warn and expose any teaching or practice contrary to God’s word.

Defend the purity and unity of the church body.

Lead the Men’s Breakfast and monthly prayer meeting.

Lead outreach activities to draw new people to Thousand Oaks Baptist Church and grow in their faith.

Lead the ministry committee and participate in other standing committees at the church.

Job Description:

Are you a passionate, committed believer seeking to shepherd and nurture a flock in the Thousand Oaks area? Thousand Oaks Baptist Church is seeking a Pastor to lead our congregation in spiritual growth, community outreach, and discipleship.

Qualifications and Character:

The ideal candidate must:

Be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, called and equipped for pastoral ministry.

Demonstrate exemplary moral character and doctrinal integrity.

Be faithful and committed in marriage, reflecting the biblical standard of fidelity.

Possess qualities of vigilance, sobriety, hospitality, and effective teaching.

Uphold the faithful word of the gospel, defending it against false teachings.

Duties as a Shepherd:

As the spiritual shepherd of our church, the Pastor must:

Lead the congregation in vision, direction, and ministry goals.

Provide spiritual nourishment through dynamic preaching and teaching in both English and Spanish.

Equip and empower members to utilize their gifts for God's glory.

Engage in outreach efforts to share the gospel and disciple new believers.

Protect the congregation from spiritual harm and false teachings.

Demonstrate compassionate care and grace towards all members.

Lead Sunday Services in both English and Spanish, English Bible Study on Tuesday night, and Spanish Bible Study on Wednesday night.
