Job Description:
Responsibilities of the Pastor of MBC will include:
- Plan and conduct the worship services; prepare and deliver sermons; lead in observance of ordinances.
- Lead the church in an effective program of witnessing and in a caring ministry for persons in the church and community; including, establishing and participating actively in MBC online platforms (website, live streaming, etc)
- Visit members and prospects.
- Conduct counseling sessions; perform wedding ceremonies; conduct funerals.
- Serve as chairman of the Church Leadership Team to lead in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the church ministries.
- Work with deacons, church officers, and committees/teams as they perform their assigned responsibilities; train and lead the deacons in their ministry.
- Act as moderator of church business meetings.
- Takes an interest in current events (local, national and worldwide) so as to keep the church informed of them, and represent the church in civic matters.
- Serve as chief administrator of the paid church staff; supervise the work of the staff.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree level of educational achievement in an applicable area of ministry is greatly desired.

The Big Picture
Morgantown Baptist Church (http://morgantownbaptist.com) is seeking a Godly, Bible believing man to teach and preach the Gospel at our church in a full time position.
Principle Function
The pastor is responsible to the church to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the biblical revelation, to engage in pastoral care ministries, to provide administrative leadership in all areas of church life, and to act as the chief administrator of the paid staff. At Morgantown Baptist Church we believe that God’s Word designates that this role shall be fulfilled by a man of the character described in the book of 1 Timothy chapter 3:1-7
1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) 6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
