Assistant Pastor
Job Description:
We are seeking an assistant pastor with a shepherd’s heart. This role will encompass general pastoral duties, with a special focus on evangelism/outreach and oversight of youth and children’s programs.
Position Qualifications:
- Exhibits a growing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Ordained or ordainable as a Teaching Elder in the PCA. If not ordained, the title of the position becomes “Assistant to the Pastor” and he is not responsible for those duties that require ordination.
- Demonstrable preaching/teaching gifts.
- People skills and shepherding heart, including for children and youth.
- NLPC’s Child Protection Plan compliant: PA clearances up to date, trained in CPR (Training to occur “on the clock,” and cost of training covered by NLPC).
- Demonstrable self-starter and diligent to see tasks through to completion.
- Teachable, self-directed, and high personal standards for workmanship.
- Possess basic computer skills and a willingness, and ability, to learn computer skills.
- Both task oriented and a people person.

New Life is an intergenerational church with growing diversity. The congregation is welcoming, active, and caring. Opportunities abound for discipleship and service. In the last two years, New Life has almost doubled in size. Our overall active community is approximately 190 people. Through the generosity of God’s people, God has financially blessed the church over the last 8 years, finishing with a surplus annually. The leadership is currently 4 elders (including the pastor), 7 deacons, and 2 part time staff (music director and administrative assistant).
