Description of Organization

Lake Hills Baptist Church (LHBC) began out of the vision of God through Calvary Baptist Church in Highland, IN to plant a church in the Lake Hills area.

This became a reality in August of 1960 when LHBC held its first service. Remarkably, the congregation has been served for the past fifty years by only two Lead Pastors: Bruce Bigelow (1973-2005), Phil Humber (2005-2023), and Pastor Jacob Riggs (2023 – Present).

LHBC is now a 64-year-old inter-generational, Bible-believing congregation that exists to glorify God by developing fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ in their families, in their community, and around the world. The Lord Himself through His doctrines of Grace have supported the ministry. Lake Hills is also supported by a dedicated staff, as well as three functional and well-maintained buildings on an expansive campus that even includes a Disc Golf course. The most recent addition to the campus is a state-of-the-art Student Center.

While grateful for all that God has done over the past six plus decades, congregational leadership recognizes the need for the congregation to develop and activate a passion to have a bigger impact in the community by making more disciples of Jesus Christ.
