Description of Organization

In the Spring of 1964, Rev. Philip Lee and a few dedicated Christian friends felt the urgent need of a spiritual home for fellow Chinese Christian in New York City and thus started a meeting every Friday evening in Rev. Lee's apartment for Bible Study, prayer and fellowship. By summer, we began to have Sunday services. The congregation grew rapidly, so we had to move to larger and larger meeting places. In 1969, we came to our present church building and we incorporated with the New York State authority as a local church. The church was formed through faith and by the grace of God. We had many hardships but God carried us through.

We believe that the holy Scripture is the inspired Word of God, the complete revalation of his will for the salvation of men and the divine and final authority of all Christian faith and life. We wish this church may serve as a spiritual home for brothers and sisters and as out reach center for friends who may come to acknowledge Jesus Christ through various church organized activities. We trust that God will help us to bring living water to the thirsty, warmth to the homeless and blessings to all.
