I want to wish you a Merry Christmas from all your friends at Reformed Theological Seminary. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. Sometime in November, I start singing Christmas carols, and I sing them as long as I possibly can.
One of the carols that I love the most has this line:
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see;
Hail the incarnate Deity,
Pleased as man with man to dwell,
Jesus, our Emmanuel.
What we remember this whole season, in our worship services, and in the carols that we sing is the great display of the love of the Triune God with the Father sending his Son, and the Son coming into the world in our poor flesh and blood to take upon himself the burden of our sins, so that by the work of the Holy Spirit, we would be united again to the God who made us for himself and serve Him now and live with Him forever. That’s a wonderful thing to meditate upon this time of year, and I hope you will contemplate it with me.
Merry Christmas from RTS.
