Hello, I’m Ligon Duncan, the chancellor of Reformed Theological Seminary, and this is RTS Book Notes. Today I want to tell you about a book about the Old Testament. This book is called A Biblical-Theological Introduction to the Old Testament: The Gospel Promised. As you can imagine, it has a companion in the New Testament, which I’ll tell you about the next time.

This book was edited by Miles Van Pelt, who is a professor of Old Testament and biblical languages at RTS in Jackson, but it has contributions from the Old Testament faculty all across the RTS system. The book doesn’t just give you background material on the Bible books, it actually gets you into the biblical theology of each of the Bible books of the Old Testament and puts it in the context of the overall flow of redemptive history. I think you’ll find it very helpful, and it’s a book that I would recommend to every pastor to have in your study. Thanks for listening to RTS Book Notes.

Note: A Biblical-Theological Introduction to the Old Testament is published by our friends at Crossway.
