JACKSON, Miss. — Reformed Theological Seminary leadership has announced that Alleen McLain has taken on new responsibilities as Assistant Director of Admissions for RTS Jackson and RTS New York City, as well as Registrar for RTS New York City.
Since 2021, McLain has served the Jackson campus as Admissions Coordinator, where she processed applications and provided administrative support for the admissions office. In her new position, she will continue to oversee the daily operations of the RTS Jackson admissions office while also managing recruitment, matriculation, and registrar functions for RTS New York City.
“In her time at RTS, Alleen has proven herself an extremely competent and trusted colleague, and has demonstrated a deep concern for the students she serves,” said David Veldkamp, Chief Enrollment Management Officer. “I’m delighted that she’ll be taking on an expanded role in serving the RTS family.”
McLain received her B.S. in Journalism from the University of Mississippi in 1991. She went on to obtain a J.D. from the Mississippi College School of Law in 1995 and worked as an attorney for 14 years. In 2009, she was called to the mission field and served in various roles with Peru Mission, a non-profit organization facilitating urban church planting and Christian community development in Peru.
In May 2023, McLain received a Master of Arts in Counseling degree at RTS Jackson. She and her husband Hermes Tomás live in Jackson and attend Redeemer Church (PCA).
“Alleen’s experience as an attorney, career missionary in Peru, and recent graduate of RTS make her the ideal person for this role at RTS New York City,” said Dr. Jay Harvey, RTS New York City Executive Director. “The institution’s willingness to dedicate to NYC someone of her caliber should signal to our partners and students the depth RTS’ commitment to the church in New York City and the NY Metro area.”
