About Dr. Harvey

Rev. Dr. Jay Harvey became Executive Director of RTS NYC August 1, 2018 and Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology April 5, 2019. He also serves as Scholar in Residence and Assistant Pastor at Exilic Church in Manhattan.

Jay was called to ministry from the business world.  After graduating seminary in 2002, he served as an Assistant Pastor at Princeton Presbyterian Church in Princeton, NJ and the first Ministry Fellow for Christian Union (Princeton University).  In 2005, Jay was called as the Senior Pastor of the historic Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Newark, DE.  He is a past moderator of Heritage Presbytery. Jay was an active member of the presbytery’s RUF committee when RUF established three new ministries in Delaware: RUF-International at University of Delaware, RUF at Delaware State University, and RUF and University of Delaware.

Jay is the author of the Song of Solomon study in the Knowing the Bible Series, a contributor to the book Don’t Call It a Comeback: The Old Faith for A New Day, ed. Kevin De Young, and author of numerous articles for Tabletalk Magazine and Reformation 21. He is also a Ph.D. candidate in systematic theology at the University of Aberdeen and an MA candidate in philosophy at the CUNY Graduate Center.

Jay and Melody have been married for 22 years and have four children. They love living in Manhattan, working with City to City and local churches to reach the City of New York, and serving the incredible students of RTS New York City.
