Job Title:

Theologian in Residence: Art House Dallas

Job Description:

Art House Dallas is seeking a thoughtful, imaginative, and collaborative Theologian in Residence to help guide the next stage of ORIGIN, an interdisciplinary program that brings people together through experiences integrating creativity, beauty, and faith to nurture spiritual formation.

ORIGIN convenes artists, clergy, patrons, and curious neighbors through public events, published anthologies, and small-group discussion cohorts. Together, participants explore how beauty, imagination, and story shape personal and communal transformation. Rooted in Christian tradition while hospitable to broad participation, ORIGIN engages theological themes through literature, poetry, visual art, music, liturgy, theology, and shared conversation.

The Theologian in Residence will serve as a collaborative member of the ORIGIN leadership team, contributing both theological leadership and hands-on program development. Working closely with staff, contributors, and community partners, the Resident will help shape and execute the program through writing, editing, curriculum development, event planning, contributor support, and theological formation. This role marks a significant evolution in the life of ORIGIN, helping expand the program from an annual series into a sustained formation experience with growing national reach through Art & Place, Art House Dallas’s partnership model for cultivating faith-informed arts communities.

The Resident will work alongside the series editor as well as executive leadership, contributing artists, and partner organizations to shape programming, develop curriculum, mentor collaborators, and steward the theological imagination of the program.
