Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities This position works with victims of Christian persecution in the Middle East North Africa region of the world by reporting on news, assisting victims of attacks, bringing the gospel and discipleship to those new to the Christian faith, and building networks within key surrounding countries. The MENA Regional Director works in countries specifically located within the Middle East and North Africa region. The Regional Director works with our teams to provide humanitarian assistance work in the MENA region of the world. This position reports to Vice President of Assistance and is a full-time position.

Staff Management, Leadership of People:

· Expand ICC presence on the ground. Recruit, hire and manage field staff, country directors and reps according to the planned strategy.

· Provide leadership to the international staff in the MENA region. Provide vision, mission, and values to Inspire, demonstrate, and model core values as a servant leader.

· Ensure the proper measures to evaluate performance and progress against approved annual goals for your regional team.

· Ensure the proper conditions and spiritual care that foster motivated, committed, and effective operating staff.

Strategy & Planning:

· Research and develop expertise on the sources and impact of persecution in your region.

· Work collaboratively within your regional team to develop and execute a strategic plan and budget for the Middle East North Africa region.

· Design, launch and grow new major initiatives under the guidance of the Vice President.

Journalist:

· Monitor persecution in the Middle East North Africa daily and write news posts, press releases, stories, and feature articles for publication.

· Participate in media interviews to highlight the needs of the persecuted.

· Provide Comms team with field media and content for production of publication when needed.

Implement, Monitor, Evaluate and Report:

· Must be able to travel in the region 3-4 times per year to monitor persecution, identify expansion opportunities, meet with victims, and initiate/monitor projects. Provide videos and articles for the impact and implementation of projects and programs.

· Prepare reports on projects and programs to support internal and partner needs.

Partnerships and Networks:

· Develop and establish in-country partners and networks to represent ICC in the Middle East North Africa region.

· Establish and maintain healthy relationships with partners and networks in the region to support our programs and goals.

· Work with advocacy team, and VP to build and maintain Advocacy initiatives and campaign for the region.

· Work collaboratively with the regional advocacy manager to write country special reports, speak at events, and build ICC brand as a thorough leader on persecution in your region.

 

Position Qualifications:

Experience/Skills

· A minimum of 2+ years of experience with cross-cultural leadership with teams in the Middle East and North Africa.

· A good understanding of Arabic or French is preferred.

· A minimum of 2 years’ experience living or working in the Middle East is preferred.

· 5-10 + years international ministry experience.

· 5-10 + years management experience.

· A minimum bachelor’s degree is required. `

· Strong preference for a solid Christian witness and history.

· Commitment to defending the cause of Christians persecuted for their faith.

· Excellent written and cross-cultural communication and problem-solving skills.

· Passion to make a difference in the world.

· History of being a self-starter and a hard worker.
