Music and Worship Intern: Cross Park Church
Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Lead worship music each Sunday with the worship team, also guide transitions throughout service (i.e. Children’s Worship dismissal, seating the congregation)
- Run rehearsals with worship team 1-2 times per month
- Coordinate scheduling of musicians for each worship service
- Coordinate with the Roadies (our Sunday set-up team) as needed
- Assist with Sunday morning set-up and tear-down
- Identify musically gifted members of the congregation and assess interest and ability to join the worship team
- Work with pastoral staff on song and liturgy selections
- Produce the physical and digital worship guides; responsible for bringing printed guides to Sunday worship as well as uploading the guide to the church website
- Maintain and extend our song catalog including lyrics, charts, sheet music, arrangements, and copyright information as needed
- Work with staff and worship team to plan a special musical event in December
- Attend staff meetings (depending on class schedule); participate in staff devotions and assist with shared tasks as needed
Time Commitment
15 hrs/week
Compensation
- Cross Park Church will pay for 2/3 of a 3-hour credit course at RTS as a church partner, limited to one course per session for as long as the internship lasts. The intern is responsible for managing the other 1/3 with RTS (should be free as part of a church partnership).

Position Qualifications:
General Ministry Qualifications
- A life in accordance with 1 Timothy 3:8-13: worthy of respect, not a malicious talker, but temperate and trustworthy in everything. He or she must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. The fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23) must be evident in his or her life.
- Have a similar view of justification, sanctification, and glorification as expressed from the pulpit and at leadership level
- Be able to lead others with humility, grace and wisdom
- Be able to collaborate and communicate well with co-laborers
- Be able to receive counsel and feedback with curiosity and self-control
- Should be involved in the Community Group and/or Bible Study ministry at Cross Park Church
Musical Qualifications
- Skilled guitar and/or keyboard player (guitar preferred)
- Strong lead vocalist
- Able to lead worship music alone if necessary
Experience leading worship for a church or campus ministry
