Job Title:

Director of Next Generation Ministries

Job Description:

Philosophy of Ministry

We believe the Church is called to shepherd people of all ages into mature faith by gospel-driven transformation. Neelsville Presbyterian Church (NPC) has a vision for cultivating flourishing, multi-generational discipleship.  An integral part of this vision is found in God’s instruction in Deut. 6:4-9, which speaks to the necessity of spiritual formation through family discipleship.  God commands His people to live in His love, learn His instruction, and teach their children to do the same.

While the family is God’s primary means for evangelism and discipleship for our children, the Church also plays an important role, by providing opportunities for instruction, spiritual formation, and service for children and youth.  We also recognize the importance of investing in our families by equipping parents and grandparents to live into their calling and pass the faith on to the next generation.

The hope for our Next Generation ministries is to be gospel-centered, Christ-exalting, biblically saturated, Spirit-led, deeply supported through intergenerational relationships of the church, and eagerly reaching out to the community through its families.  These ministries should be defined by the following characteristics:

  • Welcoming, enjoyable, meaningful and safe environments for all activities.
  • Support to families as they encourage children and youth toward spiritual flourishing that produces disciples of Jesus Christ that visibly live out their faith.
  • Broad and effective “in-reach” to our kids and families and outreach to the community.

  • Winsomely reformed theology.

Description of Organization

Neelsville Presbyterian Church is part of the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterian (ECO).

Our mission is to glorify God by being and making disciples of Jesus. We do this as we Worship, Grow, and Go together in community.

Jesus Christ affirms this mission in Matthew 28:18-20: “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Neelsville's story began in 1845 with a handful of faithful people and a calling from God. Joseph Neel donated a plot of land and $50, and God did the rest. Since that time, generations have worshiped, prayed, heard the Gospel, celebrated at weddings, mourned at funerals, and served the community here at Neelsville.

Neelsville has been making a difference in the Germantown community for well over a century. We are a multicultural congregation who knows that God has placed us in this rapidly changing region for a reason. We are gratefully aware that we stand in a long and vibrant tradition of faithful believers who have come before us.
