Job Description:
Karawaci Presbyterian Church (KPC) is searching for a man who loves Jesus and His church, who is humble and desires to see people discipled to know and love Jesus, and is willing to do the hard work to see churches planted across Indonesia.
Position Qualifications:
- A Master of Divinity Degree from an accredited seminary (required) and ordainable in the GPRII.
- Presbyterian and Reformed in their ecclesiology and theology (required).
- Previous pastoral experience leading a church over 200 people (preferred).
- Meets the qualifications for an elder given in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 (required).
- Holds to the Westminster Confession of Faith along with larger and shorter catechisms (required)
- Submits to the Book of Church Order as part of the GPRII (required).

Description of Organization
Karawaci Presbyterian Church was founded when Dr. Ric Cannada and Dr. Niel Nielson were challenged by Dr. James Riady in 2013 to establish a Reformed and Evangelical Presbyterian congregation to serve the community in Karawaci, including the students at UPH (Universitas Pelita Harapan), and also to establish a movement to plant similar congregations in locations all over Indonesia where UPH graduates are serving in schools and hospitals. The local congregation is called Karawaci Presbyterian Church (KPC). The movement or synod is called the Presbyterian Reformed Evangelical Church of Indonesia (GPRII).
Some of the early leaders along with Dr. Cannada and Dr. Nielson included Rev. Andrew Matthews and Rev. Mitchell Moore. Dr. Cannada, Dr. Nielson, and Rev. Moore served as a temporary board of elders (session) for several years before KPC elected its own elders and
deacons in 2018. In 2017, Yohanes Halim was called to serve as a pastoral intern and then was ordained as a Teaching Elder and Associate Pastor of KPC in 2018. Rev. Pastor Yohanes was called as the senior minister of Christ Chapel Karawaci and is the moderator of the GPRII which develops and supports the Christ Chapels, the mission churches of GPRII. Along the way KPC also was served as interim pastor for six months by Dr. Ron Scates. Dr. Craig Sheppard served as pastor of KPC from 2019 to 2021 until he returned to the US. Pastor Richard has served KPC as the senior pastor from 2021 to 2025 and needs to return home to get medical care for his son. The Lord has blessed KPC over the years and we are excited to see how the Lord will continue to grow His church in the coming season.
