Position Summary

Central Presbyterian Church is seeking a Communications Coordinator who has a passion for sharing the gospel and advancing the mission of Central Church and Resound Project. The ideal candidate has at least two years of work experience in communications or other applicable experience. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Development and Communications, the Communications Coordinator will organize and deploy assets, share content across multiple platforms, create branding for events and strategic initiatives, and maintain the social media presence of both Central Church and Resound Project. This newly-created position will play an integral role on our growing staff.

Primary Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Create a comprehensive and strategic social media calendar for Central Church and Resound Project.
  • Post approved content on social media accounts.
  • Maintain the online presence of Central Church and Resound Project.
  • Monitor and respond to online engagement as appropriate.

Communications & Content Creation

  • Draft descriptions for events and initiatives.
  • Create artwork in various dimensions to be used across multiple platforms.
  • Create content for special campaigns.
  • Draft an annual ministry report and annual meeting presentation.

Platform & Database Management

  • Serve as gatekeeper for all church-wide communications including emails, letters, presentations, websites, and social media accounts.
  • Leverage databases to support all departments and ministries and to create targeted communications.
  • Provide ongoing management of digital and print communication platforms.
  • Maintain and edit email templates for all departments and ministries.
  • Ensure adherence to communication guidelines among all departments and ministries.

Asset Management

  • Organize and assist team members in the use of assets including print, photography, video, and graphic design.
  • Ensure all brand assets and templates remain up-to-date and used effectively by all team members.

Analytics

  • Create monthly and quarterly analytics reports for all platforms with key takeaways.
  • Create reports for special campaigns.
  • Create automated reports in Google Analytics.
  • Assist in developing Central’s search engine optimization.

Time Allocation

This role will be split 50/50 between Central Church and Resound Project.

Position Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in communications.
  • Professional demeanor and demonstrated Christian character.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to proactively solve problems.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Great multitasker and resourceful problem solver.
  • Desire and propensity to continually learn and hone new skills.
  • Flexible and willing to do any and all tasks, great or small, with joy.
  • Familiarity or experience working with the Adobe creative suite, Google Analytics, MailChimp, Hootsuite, Canva, and Bynder or similar digital asset management software.
  • Demonstrated interest in and proven track record of communicating on social media platforms in a thoughtful and strategic way.
