Job Description:

Join a growing church and dynamic ministry team at Church on the Drive as our next Kids Director! We are looking for a committed person who engages well with people and thrives when organizing teams to lead our Kids on the Drive ministry. In general, responsibilities include recruiting and training volunteers, scheduling kids team members, and equipping families to disciple their children. Specific duties will include:

  • Align the entire Kids Ministry with the church’s overall vision and mission
  • Plan and execute a comprehensive discipleship program for kids from birth thru fifth grade
  • Plan and execute Sunday morning worship activities for kids
  • Plan and facilitate annual special activities for kids such as, but not limited to, Vacation Bible School, summer camps, and retreats.
  • Work directly with volunteers to provide counsel, discipleship, and training for them as they lead kids and their families
  • Visit kids in schools and at activities as needed
  • Create consistent opportunities for kids to serve others
  • Communicate regularly and consistently with parents via relevant mediums

This position requires thirty hours per week and a somewhat flexible schedule, sometimes including weekends and evenings for special events. Position Qualifications:

  1. Degree from an accredited college or university 
  2. Affirmation of the Baptist Faith and Message 1963 and the values of Church on the Drive.
  3. Evidence of a commitment to Jesus, spiritual and emotional maturity, integrity, leadership ability, and a cooperative spirit.
  4. Experience in kids ministry leadership.
  5. Basic computer skills and familiarity with social media.
  6. Works well in a collaborative environment, friendly, energetic, creative, and organized.
