RTS Jackson is pleased to announce the spring 2021 lineup of monthly online discussion forums. Each month, an RTS Jackson faculty member addresses an area of their expertise to edify participants.
These monthly events are designed to help alumni and friends, current and prospective students, for growth in both their personal lives and Christian service. Recent events have focused on creeds and confessions, the doctrine of Scripture, and covenant theology. Guests have included Dr. J. V. Fesko, Dr. Guy Waters, and Dr. Ben Gladd. Recordings of the monthly events are made available on the RTS website at rts.edu/resources.
Dr. Ligon Duncan, Chancellor, CEO, and President of RTS Jackson says of the events: “I learn so much leading these interviews and discussions, and I delight to see old friends and make new ones. The questions that come from our guests have been excellent, and I think the growing and enthusiastic response we’ve had speaks for itself. I hope you’ll join us regularly for this enjoyable and informative time of fellowship and conversation.”
For the spring, guests include Drs. Miles Van Pelt, Clay Quarterman, Ben Gladd, and Charlie Wingard. Each event will be held on Zoom, 12:00 – 1:00 pm CT. Participation is free, but registration is required. The schedule includes a wide variety of topics:
- February 17 | Dr. Miles Van Pelt | Theological Formation in the Age of Zoom
- March 11 | Dr. Clay Quaterman | A Reformed Perspective on Missions, Evangelism, & Church Growth
- April 21 | Dr. Ben Gladd | Becoming a Better Exegete of Scripture
- May 19 | Dr. Charlie Wingard | Finding Renewal in Ministry
“Though they initially began as an alternative to regular on-campus events due to the coronavirus, the monthly online forums have quickly proven popular with many beyond our local community,” said Step Morgan, Director of Admissions. “They have been particularly helpful to prospective students by giving them a better sense of the personality and communication style of our faculty members and the warm manner in which they interact with one another.”
At each event, all participants will have the chance to win free books from RTS Jackson faculty. Registration for the February event is available here. Join the RTS Jackson email list to receive notifications about registration for future events.
