Dr. Drake Terry is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Mississippi College. His research focuses primarily on occupational health, work as a calling, and recovery from work, particularly as these areas relate to one another. The goal of his research is to identify the demands and resources under which individuals and organizations can thrive at optimal and sustainable levels of performance. His research has often involved small organizations, such as regional hospitals, and occupations with broader community influence, such as clergy. Dr. Terry’s work has appeared in numerous academic outlets, including the Journal of Career Development and the Journal of Religion and Health. Dr. Terry has also presented at national and regional conferences, including the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the Academy of Management, and NIOSH’s Work, Stress, and Health Conference. At Mississippi College, Dr. Terry regularly teaches classes in research design and applied psychology, and in 2024 was recognized as the recipient of the Pittman Young Faculty Award. In his free time, Dr. Terry enjoys hanging out with family and friends, reading, taking long walks, and attending concerts. Dr. Terry is a member of Highlands Presbyterian Church in Ridgeland.
