About Dr. Filson

Dr. David Owen Filson is Pastor of Theology and Discipleship for Church and Academy at Christ Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Nashville, TN, where he has served for the past decade. He has been in vocational pastoral ministry for over thirty years, and is an active member of Nashville Presbytery, having served as chairman of the theological examining committee since the early 2000s. Prior to his arrival at Christ Presbyterian, Dr. Filson was a church planter in Nashville, and also has a background in youth ministry. His doctoral work was done in the history of apologetics, focusing on Post-Princetonian, twentieth-century developments and debates over epistemology with special attention to the works of J. Oliver Buswell and Cornelius Van Til.

In his free time, Dr. Filson loves to lift heavy things, play guitar, and collect theology books. He and his wife Diane have two children and two dogs.
