Reformed Theological Seminary Welcomes New Faculty Member to MAC Program

Katie Majeste Jackson, MS – Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) Jackson is pleased to announce the addition of Mrs. Katie Majeste, PhD (candidate), ThM, MA, LPC, as Assistant Professor of Counseling for the Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program. Mrs. Majeste joined the faculty on January 1, 2025, bringing a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to the integration of faith and counseling. 

Mrs. Majeste is no stranger to RTS. A 2019 graduate of the RTS Jackson MAC program, she now returns as a core faculty member to help shape the next generation of counselors. In her new role, she will contribute to the program’s mission of equipping students for gospel-centered, professional counseling practice. 

Dr. Mike Hillerman, Director of the Master of Arts in Counseling Program at RTS Jackson, expressed his enthusiasm for the new hire, “We are pleased to welcome Katie Majeste back to our program as a core faculty member. As a graduate of our clinical mental health counseling program, Mrs. Majeste brings not only a deep connection to the mission and values of RTS but also professional experience in private practice, supervision, and teaching. Her multifaceted expertise will greatly enrich our students’ education and training.” 

Mrs. Majeste brings an impressive academic and professional background to her role. She is currently completing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and expects to submit her dissertation in February 2025. Her professional certifications include EMDR Basic Training, Gottman Level 2 Certification, and Prepare/Enrich Facilitator Certification. She also has extensive teaching and clinical experience, including adjunct positions at both Reformed Theological Seminary and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. 

Reflecting on her new position, Mrs. Majeste said, “As a graduate of the RTS MAC program, I am thrilled to return to RTS Jackson, now as an assistant professor. I look forward to investing in future counselors and nurturing their spiritual and professional development. It’s exciting to know that this work will ripple outward, positively impacting the lives of the clients they will one day serve.”
