Gregory Lanier Appointed Assistant Professor of NT

(ORLANDO, FL) – September 17, 2015 – RTS has appointed Gregory R. Lanier the new assistant professor of New Testament at RTS Orlando beginning January 1, 2016. 

Lanier earned a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in business administration from UNC Chapel Hill, Morehead Scholar, Honors and Highest Distinction. He earned an M.Div. from RTS Charlotte, serving as a teaching assistant to Dr. John W.P. Oliver. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in New Testament at the University of Cambridge, in the UK. His research is on the Christology in the Gospel of Luke Through the Use of OT Metaphors.

Previously, he was an undergraduate supervisor at the University of Cambridge. He has also guest lectured in homiletics at RTS Charlotte and served with adult education and discipleship at Uptown Church under the supervision of Dr. Mike Kruger, president of RTS Charlotte, and associate pastor of teaching at the church. He also served as the Mercy Ministry Co-Chair for the singles’ ministry at Intown Community Church in Atlanta.

He has a passion to teach and disciple students.  He comes with strong academic gifts, a heart for the Lord, the ability to communicate, and a desire to be with and mentor students.  We are delighted he will be joining our team at RTS Orlando.”

Lanier is married to Kate, an optometrist, and they have two daughters: Caroline and Amelia.
