Dr. Charlie Wingard will be installed as Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Yazoo City on February 14 at 6:00 pm. Dr. Ligon Duncan will preach and Dr. Guy Richardson will deliver the charge to the pastor.
Having recently celebrated his 30th year of ordained ministry, Dr. Wingard is delighted at the opportunity to continue in pastoral ministry. He had served as interim at First Presbyterian for several months before being called to the position as Senior Pastor. His call is pending presbytery approval on February 5-6.
Dr. Wingard will also continue in his duties as Dean of Students and Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at RTS Jackson. He and his wife, Lynne, will maintain their on-campus townhome and a house in Yazoo in order to serve both RTS families and the congregation of First Presbyterian.
