Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson is excited to announce its chapel schedule for the spring 2020 semester. Chapel services are held in Grace Chapel on Wednesday mornings from 11:00 to 11:50 AM during the fall and spring semesters.
“I am excited about this spring’s lineup of chapel speakers,” said Dr. Charlie Wingard, Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology, Dean of Students, and Dean of Chapel at RTS Jackson. “In addition to our own faculty, those serving as campus ministers, prison chaplains, counselors, businessmen, and hardworking pastors will proclaim the Word of God. We’ll end the semester strengthened in the scriptures, and profoundly grateful for the work God is doing in diverse fields of labor.”
Dr. Miles Van Pelt, Alan Hayes Belcher, Jr. Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Languages and Academic Dean of the Jackson and Brazil campuses added that “‘the purpose of chapel is to praise God with singing, to offer prayer for the seminary, and to sit together as a community under the preached Word of God.’ Our weekly chapel services serve as a unique opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to join together as the body of Christ. In other words, chapel is like CrossFit for your soul!”
Following each chapel service, students, faculty, and staff gather for a time of food, fellowship, and prayer in Patterson’s Porch, the RTS Jackson Student Center. Friends of RTS in the Jackson area should feel encouraged to join us for any of the spring 2020 chapel services, as well as for the lunch and time of fellowship to follow.
