Reformed Theological Seminary has announced that it will take part in Giving Tuesday on November 29, 2022. With the theme of “A Great Commitment,” each campus of RTS will join together in this national focus to grow the impact of the seminary around the globe.

Giving Tuesday falls on the Tuesday after the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. It is widely promoted as a day of philanthropy, generosity, and charitable giving, with a special emphasis on nonprofit organizations.

This year, RTS is participating in Giving Tuesday as part of the recent Strategic Planning Initiative’s goals to improve institutional effectiveness and grow institutional impact.

“This is a chance for all of RTS—across campuses, departments, and our whole constituency—to align ourselves to our common goal: the training of faithful servant leaders for Christ’s church,” said Dr. Robert Cara, RTS Provost and Chief Academic Officer. “That’s why it’s called ‘A Great Commitment.’ It speaks to exactly what we are about as an institution with an eye toward long-term success and growth.”

The initiative aims to engage existing RTS donors as well as to capture new ones, with a fundraising goal of $250,000 from 1500 donors.

“Digital giving holds great promise for RTS, and this is a way to turn the focus of the entire RTS enterprise toward a unified digital effort. The RTS family is certainly up to the task,” said Chief of Staff Douglas Baker. “We’re launching into Giving Tuesday with increased confidence this year and potential new donors should be assured that every cent counts.”

The entire RTS family is invited to participate in Giving Tuesday this year, joining with thousands of believers around the world in support of the seminary’s mission to prepare leaders marked by sound doctrine and sincere love.

“People should start watching social media and their email inboxes for more updates related to Giving Tuesday, including some messages from our faculty and other RTS friends,” said Baker. “Our goal is not only to ask for support, but to encourage and build up our stakeholders about the work RTS is doing. I’m excited to see that reflected on Giving Tuesday.”
