Dr. Michael J. Kruger Appointed Vice-President of the Evangelical Theological Society

Reformed Theological Seminary is pleased to announce that Dr. Michael J. Kruger, President and Samuel C. Patterson Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at RTS Charlotte, has been appointed as the vice-president of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS). ??

The appointment took place during the annual ETS business meeting on November 17, 2016. The new president-elect will be David Dockery and the new president will be Sam Storms. ??

Founded in 1949, ETS is a professional, academic society of biblical scholars, teachers, pastors, students, and others involved in evangelical scholarship. With over 4000 members, ETS is one of the largest groups of evangelical scholars in the world.

The Society publishes a quarterly journal, the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society (JETS), and also holds national and regional meetings across the United States and in Canada.

It is customary for the vice-president of ETS to become the president-elect in the following year, and then eventually the president of the society. ??

Dr. Kruger has been a member of ETS since 2001 and is the co-founder and co-chair of the ETS study group on the NT canon, textual criticism, and apocryphal literature. He is also the author or editor of numerous books including, A Biblical-Theological Introduction to the New Testament (Crossway, 2016), The Question of Canon (IVP Academic, 2013), and The Early Text of the New Testament (Oxford, 2012).??
