New Women’s Bible Study Established at RTS Atlanta

Women's Bible Study Atlanta(ATLANTA, Ga.) – Reformed Theological Seminary, Atlanta is pleased to announce the start of a new Women’s Bible Study, beginning January 2020. Led by Dr. Guy Richard, the inaugural study will be on the book of 1 Peter.

This new study is part of ongoing efforts by RTS Atlanta to provide theological training to women, whether they are RTS students, members of local churches, or otherwise connected to the seminary. As stated on their website, RTS Atlanta is “convinced that women with a deep understanding of theology make better teachers, disciplers, counselors, wives, and mothers as they themselves grow in their knowledge and love of God.”

Kim Johnson, Director of Women’s Ministry at RTS Atlanta, said, “We are excited to have this opportunity to impact the metro-Atlanta community. Studying the Scriptures and honoring the Lord in how we live is foundational to impacting our immediate sphere of influence and ultimately the world for Christ. We believe that the message of the gospel applies today. Our desire is to encourage the body of Christ from the Word of God and provide a place for earnest discussion and sweet fellowship.”

Dr. Richard, Executive Director of RTS Atlanta and Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology, commented on the study: “Ever since I became a Christian in college, I have had a passion for God’s Word. I long to communicate that passion for the Word to others and to have them pass it on to still others until that day when, in the Lord’s providence, we see renewal, revival, and reformation in our churches, our homes, and our communities. My hope and prayer is that this Bible study will be a starting point for this kind of divine work in our day and time.”
