Keyport Bible Church Profile and Philosophy of Ministry

Christ-Centered and Rooted in Scripture

The Bible is the foundation for all that we do in ministry, and the purpose of the church is for the praise of God’s glory and grace through Jesus Christ, to serve Him and one another, to be imitators of God as beloved children and to walk in love as Jesus loved us.

At Keyport Bible Church (KBC), our mission is to know and love Jesus Christ and to share Him with those near and far. We pursue this by the preaching of God’s word, studying, teaching, and applying His Word through various ministries including:

- Men’s, Women’s, and Senior Adult Bible Studies
- AWANA and Youth Group
- Sunday School and Vacation Bible School

- Children’s Church and Nursery
- Short- and Long-Term Missions

We firmly believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original text, and that God has preserved it for the foundation of our doctrine. It provides everything we need for training in righteousness and equipping us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).  Our priority is that all of scripture would be viewed through a gospel-saturated lens and that it would be preached from a God-centered, as opposed to a man-centered, perspective.

The church is elder-led and congregational.  Our worship style blends traditional hymns with contemporary worship music. We currently use the English Standard Version (ESV) in worship services.

Missions & Community Engagement

KBC is actively involved in missions both locally and globally, supporting missionaries in various locations around the world. We also encourage our members to serve wherever God leads them and seek to facilitate short-term mission trips for members of our body in order to provide the opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus with people around the globe.

Our strong relationship with the local community allows us to support events like the Keyport 4th of July Parade and Keyport Fest, reflecting our commitment to serving and engaging with those in our neighborhood.

Independent, Yet Collaborative

While KBC is an independent Bible church, we are affiliated with the Independent Fundamental Churches of America (IFCA) and the Northwest Independent Church Extension (NICE). Our partnership with these organizations provides us with valuable resources such as pulpit supply, leadership training, outreach ministries, Bible conferences, and spiritual counsel.

Additionally, we collaborate with other like-minded local churches and ministries throughout the year to foster inter-church unity and shared ministry efforts.

Multi-Generational & Family-Focused

Our church is home to believers of all ages, and we value the wisdom and fellowship that comes from a multi-generational congregation. As a spiritual family, we strive to serve together in these ways:
- Love one another as brothers and sisters
- Pray for and encourage each other
- Meet together and share in fellowship
- Show kindness and hospitality

Nestled in Kitsap County

KBC is located in Keyport, Washington, a small, unincorporated community about 90 minutes from Seattle. While Keyport itself has a population of just under 300 residents, our church family is drawn from across Kitsap County, which is home to over 250,000 people and three Naval bases—many of our members have served in or currently work for the military.

Keyport Bible Church Distinctives:

  • We are committed to speaking the truth in love.
  • We are careful to keep cultural and current issues from dividing and distracting.
  • We diligently practice moral and financial accountability.
  • We believe the Bible must be preached and responded to each week.
  • We know that each of us is important and needed in the Body of Christ.
  • We believe it’s important for every person to connect in a small group.
  • We believe in being invested in local and global missions.
  • We believe church membership is a commitment to biblical action, not just belief.
  • We believe that prayer is essential for powerfully transformative ministry.
