Job Description:
The major responsibilities we are searching for include but not limited to:
- Biblical theological based teaching of the Word
- Officiate weddings and funerals
- Mentoring and disciple training
- Making visits–both in homes and hospitals
- Moderate Session meetings
- Represent the congregations at Presbytery and General Assembly meetings
- Will seek to cultivate ecumenical relationships with local pastors out of a desire to partner with sister Churches in local gospel ministry. Maintaining a healthy balance between work and family life

Description of Organization
Yokena Presbyterian Church became a congregation in 1884, was a member of the PCUSA until 2008 when we joined the EPC. We have been blessed over these 140 years to have had three long term pastors (Rev. Colmery 49 yrs., Rev. Daniels 47 yrs., and Rev Herrin 16 yrs.) and many, many assisting pastors. These pastors and others during the life of the church have all been Stated Supply; and for the last 60 years or so, have assisted both churches.
We are now engaged in a joint search process in conjunction with First Presbyterian Church of Port Gibson, Mississippi, to call a pastor who will share pastoral duties for both congregations. We are located on the Hwy 61 South corridor, 15 minutes in either direction to Vicksburg or Port Gibson. There are multiple opportunities for ministering in this area. We are looking for a person who will be interested in these opportunities.
