Job Description:
Sunday School for both adults and children is held every Sunday as well as the Worship Service but no Sunday night service. A Wednesday night Bible Study/Prayer meeting is held every week. The Pastor would preach at the Worship Service and share in the teaching of the Adult Sunday School class. In the past the Pastor and two laymen have rotated teaching each quarter. The Pastor usually leads the Wednesday night Bible Study which normally lasts 30-40 minutes including updating the prayer list.
The Pastor’s compensation package would depend on how many and which of the above responsibilities he would be able to assume. It would be in the range of $40,000 in addition to living in the manse if he so desired. It would also include four weeks of paid vacation. It his other job required occasional travel, that could be worked out.
Position Qualifications:
To be, or qualified to be, ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America. Accurate preaching and teaching of God’s Word, home and hospital visitation as needed, being reasonably active in the community are desirable qualifications.

The church is one block off the square in Houston, MS and has an average attendance of 25-30 people. Houston has a population of approximately 3,800 people. This church needs a bi-vocational or semi-retired pastor who has an income in addition to his salary from the church. A manse is available across the street from the church. There are three Christian schools within a one-hour drive from Houston which employ part-time as well as full-time teachers. The previous and his wife were full-time teachers at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School. American Family Association in Tupelo is a good possibility for employment. There are businesses in Houston that may offer employment for the pastor and/or his wife as well.
