Job Description:

1. Home / Personal Spiritual Life:
a. Maintain a healthy home life evidencing devotion to family’s spiritual, physical, and emotional wellbeing.
b. Maintain consistent devotional practices which result in a consistent and faithful walk with God and setting an example in the church and community.
2. Teacher:
a. Prepare and present worship services according to the Word of God which glorify God and edify believers.
b. Preach the Word of God, including correct exegesis and practical applications.
3. Shepherd:
a. Participate in effective shepherding of the flock entrusted to your care, promoting the spiritual development of church members, and visiting them in their homes.
b. Work with the Session to develop educational programs to meet spiritual needs.
c. Ensure that a system exists to care for the spiritual and practical needs of church members. That system should include the following:
i. Ensure every member is assigned to a Ruling Elder who has responsibility to care for them.
ii. Ensure each Ruling Elder is cared for in turn.
iii. Follow up with Ruling Elders to encourage their shepherding practices.
4. Leader:
a. Provide leadership, training, and direction to) a church staff-including a church executive assistant and an intern.
b. Effectively encourage the church’s lay leaders.
c. Facilitate and direct effective Session meetings.
5. Evangelist:
a. Personally lead others within and outside the Church to place their faith in Jesus Christ.
b. Inform, train, and help the congregation to do the same.
c. Develop sustained relationships in the local community by joining an organization such as the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, or similar organization as time allows.
6. Presbytery and General Assembly:
a. Fulfill Presbytery obligations and serve on committees as time allows.
b. Attend General Assembly as time and resources allow.
7. Miscellaneous:
a. Participate in the preparation of and performance of the yearly church budget.
b. Participate as ex officio member of the Christ Classical Academy School Board.
c. Participate enthusiastically in the annual performance review process with the Session.

Position Qualifications:

Master of Divinity.

A heart for evangelism and discipleship.

Humility, wisdom, integrity, sincerity, and approachability.

Agreement with the doctrinal standards of the Presbyterian Church in America.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and lead a staff in a way that models Jesus Christ’s leadership style.
