Girls Discipleship Coordinator
Primary Purpose:
The primary role of the Girls Discipleship Coordinator will be to assist in evangelizing and discipling the youth of NMPC and the community, with a primary emphasis on female students in grades 6-12, by pointing them to Jesus Christ through sharing God’s Word, building relationships, and helping develop Christian community within the youth group.
Reports to: The Director of Youth Ministry, & through him to the Executive Pastor
Primary Responsibilities:
Shepherding Students
- Evangelism & Discipleship: Personally share the gospel and disciple the female students of NMPC and their friends, and support the youth discipleship ministry as a whole
- Bible Study: Offer biblical instruction (along with other staff and volunteer leaders) to female students involved in the ministry, primarily in small groups and one-to-one discipling
- Engagement: Practice a “ministry of presence” with female students and their friends, attending ball games and performances, meeting girls for lunch at school, etc.
- Crisis Care: Seek to develop caring relationships with female students, their families, and their friends and offer prayer, care, and support during difficult times. Communicate to the Director of Youth Ministry, the Executive Pastor, and Session any serious emotional and spiritual issues involving youth and parents.
Program Leadership
- Groups: Assist the Director in planning and executing all regular large group meetings, Sunday School classes, and discipleship groups, with particular emphasis on providing vision and support for girls’ discipleship group leaders and volunteers.
- Events: Assist the Director in creating, organizing, publicizing, and leading youth activities and programs, and help in maintaining order and discipline with youth at church events.
- Service Projects: Assist the Director in planning and leading service & mercy projects.
- Retreats: Assist the Director in planning and executing all middle school and high school retreats, conferences, seminars, activities, and other church supported events.
- Missions: Assist the Director in planning, recruiting, organizing, and leading mission projects and trips for youth, both state-side and abroad.
Ministry Administration
- Volunteer Leadership: Assist the Director in recruiting adult and college leaders to assist in the planning and running of the youth program, with particular emphasis on female volunteers.
- Parental Involvement: Assist the Director in involving parents in the discipleship of their children through encouraging their participation in and assistance with youth events, service projects, and mission trips; and by helping provide opportunities for parents to grow in their understanding of their parenting and discipling task through seminars, resources, and classes in conjunction with the adult discipleship ministry of NMPC.
- Administration: Assist the Director with developing the annual youth ministry segment of the church budget; with managing all related income and expenses throughout the year; with ordering and managing curriculum material and supplies; and with maintaining accurate records for all those involved in student ministry.
- Team Participation: Attend and actively participate in all youth ministry and all-staff meetings and work together with other staff members on special projects and events as needed.

- A growing knowledge of the Scriptures and a basic understanding of the Reformed faith as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith & Catechisms
