The Executive Pastor role here at GCC is a combination of Ministry oversight, development and leadership. It encompasses leading the staff and engaging processes and infrastructure that helps the ministry succeed. The church is vibrant and growing like crazy and needs someone who is used to a fast paced lead pastor and a diverse staff to manage. Fun church with a great elder board.

Position Qualifications:

1. Spiritual & Personal Qualifications

  • Devout Christian faith with a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Demonstrated spiritual maturity, integrity, and character consistent with biblical leadership standards (e.g., 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1).

  • Active church member with a passion for ministry and service.

  • A calling to church leadership and pastoral ministry.

2. Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, leadership, business, or a related field.

  • Master’s degree (e.g., M.Div., MBA, or similar) often preferred for larger churches or complex organizations.

3. Experience Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of relevant leadership experience in church, nonprofit, or corporate environments.

  • Proven track record in organizational leadership, strategic planning, team development, and operations management.

  • Experience in managing church staff, budgets, and projects.

  • Familiarity with church governance structures and ministry best practices.

4. Leadership & Administrative Skills

  • Strong executive leadership skills: vision casting, decision-making, conflict resolution.

  • Financial acumen: budgeting, stewardship, financial reporting.

  • Experience with human resources: hiring, performance management, staff care.

  • Project management: able to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with church management software and operational tools.

5. Interpersonal & Communication Skills

  • Excellent communication and relational abilities.

  • Ability to build trust with staff, lay leaders, and congregation members.

  • Skilled at leading teams and volunteers.

  • Comfortable working behind-the-scenes and in a support role to the Senior Pastor.
