Equipping Pastor
The equipping pastor’s primary role is equipping the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12). The equipping pastor will be responsible for initiating, overseeing, connecting, organizing and mobilizing various individuals, teams, and ministries inside the Oasis Church. These teams and ministries will be based upon the current vision and direction of the church as decided by the elders and pastors of the Oasis Church.
Strategic Objectives
- Create a vision, recruit, and train volunteers to execute the vision to initiate, organize and mobilize the youth ministry
- Create, implement and oversee home group curricula and structure
- Create, implement, and develop adult theology classes
- Envision and implement strategies for outreach to the community
- Assist, develop and grow multi-generational church
Administrative
- Oversee the youth ministry as it comes into fruition
- Work with the children director to connect parents, youth, and children all under one unified vision of learning and curriculum
- Fill in for the Oasis Children Director when needed.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of all upcoming events and major ministry components of each ministry in the church in order to connect people to the correct resources, ministries, or members.
- Ensure events are well staffed with volunteers and give those volunteers a working vision of what needs to be done to execute the events.
- Participate and assist in global missions
Equipping & Discipleship
- Responsible for equipping and discipling the volunteers and students within youth ministry.
- Oversee, train, and equip home group leaders
- Ensure members are connected and active in a home group
- Equip and activate members to do the work of ministry in their lives and in the community
- Preach at the discretion of the Teaching Pastor and Elders as needed.
- Serve and encourage volunteers by providing support and eliciting feedback within their serving positions.
- Actively seek out all new guests and connect them to church home groups and other church members.
- Seek and obtain contact information of visitors and follow up with visitors after church.
Position Qualifications:
Requirements and Skills
- Meet the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
- Must be in agreement and affirmation of Baptist Faith and Message 2000
- Able to manage tactical administrative tasks
- Able to teach and train
- Able to disciple others (2 Timothy 2:2)
- Able to provide pastoral counseling as needed
