Director of Music Ministry: Mountain View Church
Job Description:
Under the direction of the Pastor, the Director of Music Ministry is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the Music Ministry at Mountain View Church. This position requires experience in both Traditional and Contemporary worship styles and the ability to blend both. Mountain View Church is positioned to minister to the growing Forest, Virginia community with Spirit-led, Biblically-based ministries, worship, programs and activities. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Director of Music Ministry to go on this journey with us.

Responsibilities:
• Worship planning and leadership
A. Collaborate with the Pastor to plan music for Sunday services, and special occasions (ex: Christmas and Easter).
B. Lead and direct music for traditional and contemporary services, including choral anthems, hymns, vocalists, and instrumentalists.
• Rehearse, coordinate and direct adult choir and lead the Praise Band and Praise Team.
• Work with audio/visual personnel to enhance and compliment the worship service.
• Schedule rehearsals and all performances. • Work with the Children/Youth Director to coordinate the youth and children’s music programs.
• Work with volunteers to organize ministry goals.
• Work with the Pastor to develop and manage the Music Ministry’s budget.
• Maintain music resources, licenses, and copyright permissions.
• Collaborate with the Pastor as to any Music Ministry needs.
• Attend weekly staff meetings.
• Evening rehearsals and Sunday Worship service attendance required.
• Other duties as may be required as related to the Music Ministry.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in music preferred. • Previous experience directing a choir, instrumental groups, and worship bands.
• Proficient in both written and verbal communications, organization, and leadership skills. • Proficient in keyboard. • Flexible hours including evenings, and weekends as required.
