Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Children’s Ministry, this position is a vital part of the Children’s Ministry Team. The Ministry Coordinator will be involved in direct ministry with children, parents, and families.  This person will be helping to coordinate all facets of ministry in SHINE.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Be directly involved with ministry to children
  • Pursue relationships with adults in the church, particularly volunteers and parents
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers with children’s ministry
  • Take a leadership role on Sunday morning with children’s discipleship and children’s worship hour activities
  • Assist and Attend with children’s ministry programming as agreed on with Children’s Director and other Coordinator(s)  for activity planning and execution (i.e. Christmas, Easter, VBS, Life Fest, play groups, etc)
  • Utilize eSpace to reserve meeting locations.
  • Social Media and Content Creation to enhance communication via Table Talks, Worship Bags / Bulletins, Website, etc..
  • Attend Children’s Ministry meetings as directed by Children’s Ministry Director
  • Assist with the front desk duties to assist operations.
  • Regularly attend FPCO Sunday worship and be actively growing spiritually.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 Desired Gifts/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Direct experience with children, 2+ years (camp counselor, teaching, ministry roles)
  • An evidenced calling to minister to families and children
  • Able to support and communicate the vision, mission and values of FPCO
  • Ability to work well with volunteers, staff, and congregation members
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Team player, willing to assist coworkers and other departments as needed
  • Must have a relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to a biblical lifestyle, as defined by the FPCO Statement of Biblical Standards for Christian Leaders
  • Schedule to be determined by supervisor
