Associate Pastor of Small Groups: Trinity Methodist Church
Job Description:
Trinity Methodist Church in Jacksonville, NC, seeks a full-time Associate Pastor. The key responsibility of this role is overseeing and developing Wesleyan-styled Small Groups. Under the Senior Pastor’s leadership, the Associate Pastor will also be responsible for pastoral responsibilities such as member care, visitation, and worship duties.
Trinity Methodist Church, a congregation of the Global Methodist Church, has a membership of over 300 and offers contemporary and traditional services. Jacksonville, with its population of 72,723 residents, is a military town (Camp Lejeune and New River Air Station) with an active-duty population of 38,778.

Position Qualifications:
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, or related field (required).

Seminary degree or equivalent (preferred).

3–5 years of experience in pastoral ministry, especially in small group or discipleship ministry.

Previous experience leading and developing leaders or volunteers.
Leadership & Ministry Skills
-
Proven ability to recruit, train, and shepherd small group leaders.

Strong teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal.
-
Capable of creating systems and strategies for multiplying groups and leaders.
-
Ability to assess the spiritual health and development of group leaders and members.
-
Comfortable working with church staff, elders, and volunteers collaboratively.
