Assistant Pastor

Job Description:

Emmaus Church is seeking to hire an assistant pastor with a primary focus on youth ministry.

Duties include the following:

  • Grow and develop personally in all aspects of pastoral ministry 
  • Develop and maintain a vibrant youth ministry (middle school and high school)
  • Weekly youth meetings including Bible teaching, games, and fellowship
  • Attend youth camps and retreats
  • Plan youth events and retreat
  • Plan and accompany youth on mission trips
  • Help further develop young adults’ ministry
  • Teach adult Bible studies
  • Preach expository sermons when senior pastor is unavailable (8-10 times per year)
  • Officiate weddings and funerals
  • Administer the sacraments (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper)
  • Work closely with the senior pastor to shepherd the flock at Emmaus Church
  • Visit the sick at home and in the hospital
  • Attend church events, prayer meetings, worship nights, fall festivals, Easter picnic, Christmas dinner
  • Be intimately involved with the congregation and church body lifNote from Pastor David Netzorg

I’m looking for a young man who would like to develop his gifts in pastoral ministry, lead our youth program, be a vital part of our congregation, love on our people (be involved in their lives), and just do life with us, and me.
