Assistant Pastor
Job Description:
Emmaus Church is seeking to hire an assistant pastor with a primary focus on youth ministry.
Duties include the following:
- Grow and develop personally in all aspects of pastoral ministry
- Develop and maintain a vibrant youth ministry (middle school and high school)
- Weekly youth meetings including Bible teaching, games, and fellowship
- Attend youth camps and retreats
- Plan youth events and retreat
- Plan and accompany youth on mission trips
- Help further develop young adults’ ministry
- Teach adult Bible studies
- Preach expository sermons when senior pastor is unavailable (8-10 times per year)
- Officiate weddings and funerals
- Administer the sacraments (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper)
- Work closely with the senior pastor to shepherd the flock at Emmaus Church
- Visit the sick at home and in the hospital
- Attend church events, prayer meetings, worship nights, fall festivals, Easter picnic, Christmas dinner
- Be intimately involved with the congregation and church body lifNote from Pastor David Netzorg

I’m looking for a young man who would like to develop his gifts in pastoral ministry, lead our youth program, be a vital part of our congregation, love on our people (be involved in their lives), and just do life with us, and me.
