Unable to Move?
At RTS, we believe that nothing compares to being face-to-face, especially in the classroom. However, we also know that theological education needs to be accessible, particularly for those who may not be able to move to one of our eight campuses. Because of this, we’ve worked to create programs that maintain the high standards of the classroom, but are available regardless of where you live. In our video series “How to Get an RTS Degree Without Relocating,” you’ll hear from our faculty and staff about your options for distance learning.
Commuting
Commuting to classes may sound like a no-brainer — it’s something that many of our students do, even if they live in town. However, we’ve also had many students who drive a few hours to campus. Many of our campuses have schedules with multiple classes in one day, week-long courses, or weekend courses. The video series includes more information from our VP for Enrollment, Dave Veldkamp.
Hybrid MDiv
The Hybrid Master of Divinity is the only program at RTS that allows you to get an MDiv without enrolling in a traditional residential program. This program involves both online classes and spending time at RTS Orlando for two weeks each year. Students reap the benefits of a flexible program and face time with students and other professors. Dr. Mike Allen, John Dyer Trimble Professor of Systematic Theology and Academic Dean, explains how the Hybrid MDiv seeks to be as beneficial as possible.
Online
Our online courses are part of our Global program. Students can earn full MA degrees by taking online classes, or take individual courses to fulfill the requirements of their on-campus programs. With course content from classrooms across RTS’s campuses, students have the opportunity to hear from a wide range of our faculty. RTS Global Executive Director David John discusses what sets our online classes apart.
