The Master of Theology (ThM) provides advanced academic preparation (beyond the MDiv) in theology and biblical studies, equipping pastors with deeper resources for preaching and pastoral ministry and forming scholars to excel in further theological research (such as PhD study).

Anticipated to launch in January 2025, pending ATS approval.

Curriculum: 30 Credits

  • Emphases in theology or biblical studies
  • Area of emphasis requires at least 15 credits
  • A 6-credit-hour thesis is optional
  • Admission requirements include an MDiv degree or equivalent with a 3.25 GPA

Course Design and Delivery

A course will be offered in each concentration every term. In addition, a remote live course will be offered each fall and spring term to serve nonresident students. Winter and summer courses will be offered intensively and paired with hybrid week (and adjacent weeks).

Program Flexibility

Courses will be offered in traditional residential format, weeklong intensives in January and July, directed reading courses, and synchronous online formats. This flexibility allows for completion in residence or by distance in as little as one year.
